Team Member - Sun & Waves All Day Market Faherty, the family run clothing and lifestyle brand, is building out their next business concept—hospitality. Currently operating 70 retail stores across the US, we are opening a new café concept in Spring Lake, NJ. Sun & Waves All Day Market is everything you need for life down the Shore: from smoothies, coffee, sandwiches, salads and gourmet dishes to go, and a curated collection of artisan-crafted goods, local honey, and Faherty brand favorites. Sourcing only the highest-quality ingredients and product from trusted purveyors, Sun & Waves nourishes and nurtures the warm, welcoming energy of community—and the endless summer that lives in us all. We are seeking a collaborative team member to join our team. The individual in this role will work under the direction of the Executive Chef and will be responsible for providing an overall welcoming experience to guests while following food and safety procedures. ABOUT US: At Sun & Waves All Day Market, we pride ourselves on serving exceptional experiences to our customers. Nestled in the heart of Spring Lake, our cafe is a bustling hub where people gather to enjoy expertly brewed beverages, healthy beverages and warm hospitality. What You’ll Do Create and promote a welcoming environment to all guests. You will be responsible for working with espresso, coffee, smoothies, fresh juices, açaí bowls, and grab-and-go food. Deliver the perfect coffee, juice, and smoothie beverage that exceedscustomer expectations with your ability to engage, build rapport, listen andprovide friendly, timely service. Maintain the grab-and-go food section, ensuring it is well-stocked anditems are fresh. Help to stock and restock the coffee area and beverage reach in merchandiser refrigerators. Assist guests with the deli case of prepared food items, having knowledge ofingredients and cooking techniques. Handle cash transactions, provide correct change, and processcredit/debit card payments. Maintain the appearance and hygiene of the workspace according to standards. Ensure a clean and tidy environment knowing that cleanliness encompassesall aspects of the guest experience. Execute all operational standards correctly in a timely manner and inaccordance with the cafe standards safety, and health codes. Work efficiently to control waste and shrink. Follow food safety and handling procedures to ensure quality andsafety. What You’ll Have: Food service experience preferred. Acceptance to coaching and feedback from others openly. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations. Communication, adaptable, food service, cash handling, efficient, positive attitude, team player, flexible. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple taskssimultaneously. Energetic, accountable and team-oriented. Track record of taking ownership and going beyond responsibilities to ensure the success of the team. Ability to work independently and with all levels of leadership in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning shifts (6am), nights, weekends and holidays. Able to bend reach stretch for product as well as lift carry and move at least 40 lbs. Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly and standing for extended periods of time. In order to protect the business and engage with all our customers, we need to ensure that we embrace an “all hands on deck” mentality during key business periods. Due to this, time off requests will be granted on a more limited basis. The Cafe will have additional specific peak season time. Why Us, You Ask!
